Preparation of Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) - Environmental Impact Training can provide consulting services on the planning and conduction of specific EISs, EAs, supplements to EISs, programmatic EISs, and cumulative effects assessments (CEAs). Some of our past projects include:
- Participated in the preparation of an EIS for a proposed spent nuclear fuel facility.
- Participated in the preparation and review of an EIS for the Steller sea lion (an endangered species) and a regional groundfish fishery
- Prepared the cumulative effects section for an EA related to a license renewal application for an existing independent spent fuel storage installation at a nuclear power plant.
- Prepared the cumulative effects section for an EA related to a license renewal application for an existing nuclear materials fabrication facility.
- Prepared a CEA report for a proposed new high-speed railway in Europe.
- Prepared a report on NEPA compliance options for an international convention on marine fisheries.
Critical Reviews of Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) - Environmental Impact Training has performed critical reviews of preliminary draft and draft EISs and EAs, as well as related technical reports for governmental agencies, organizations and companies. Some of our past critical review projects include:
- Reviewed the draft, supplemental, and final EIS for a geological repository for high-level radioactive waste.
- Reviewed the draft programmatic supplemental EIS for a regional groundfish fishery.
- Reviewed a preliminary draft EIS for a man-made lake shoreline management plan
- Reviewed a draft and modified draft EIS, and resultant comment responses, for licensing a mixed oxide fuel fabrication facility.
Strategic Planning of Environmental Impact Studies - Environmental Impact Training has worked with various domestic and international governmental agencies and organizations to create strategic planning processes of Environmental Impact Studies.
- Provided advice on EIA-related research needs to be undertaken by an African science center.
- Developed protocols for planning and implementing several types of effluent trading programs for water quality management within a municipality, an industrial plant, an intrastate watershed, and an inter-country watershed.
- Reviewed and advised on the development of internal guidance for the preparation of NEPA documents for a national agency in the
United States.
- Developed terms of reference for an EIA/SEA system for water development plans and projects in a major river basin in southeast Asia.
- Prepared and tested a CEA Guidance Manual for U.S. Army Training Ranges.
Assist in the analysis and creation of EIA Training Programs - Environmental Impact Training can assist your organization with analyzing your training needs, creating training material and providing customized training solutions. Some of our past projects include:
- Created customized CDs of reference documents and Internet web links for the practice of Environmental Impact Assessment for various organizations and federal agencies
- Conducted a needs assessment for NEPA training for a federal agency.
- Provided guidance and technical assistance on the development of EIA curriculum materials to be used by Universities throughout an Asian country.
Conduct Specialized Portions of Impact Studies - On occasion, Environmental Impact Training has conducted specialized portions of impact studies. Some of our past projects include:
- Provided advice on and participated in a cumulative effects assessment study for a programmatic EIS on a navigation system rehabilitation plan for a major river in the United States.
- Conducted a cumulative effects assessment study for the expansion of an island dredged material management area.
